Responsibilities
- Accurately verify and code medical claims using ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure billing compliance and accuracy.
- Submit claims electronically to payers (including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers).
- Follow up on denied or underpaid claims to maximize revenue collection.
- Maintain and update patient accounts and financial records with precision.
- Communicate effectively with insurance companies and patients regarding billing inquiries.
Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, HIPAA, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
