Responsibilities
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims for timely reimbursement
- Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes to medical procedures
- Resolve billing discrepancies and patient account inquiries
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Generate reports on billing performance and denial trends
- Collaborate with clinical teams for documentation accuracy
- Maintain patient confidentiality and data security standards
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency with Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR platforms
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
