Responsibilities
- Review and code medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Submit claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Follow up on denied claims and appeals processes
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
- Reconcile accounts receivable reports
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and payers
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience required
- Certification (CPC, CPC-A, or CCS) preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
