Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
- Submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims
- Resolve billing discrepancies and denials through appeals
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation accuracy
- Generate monthly revenue reports for leadership
- Utilize Epic or NextGen EHR systems for billing operations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical coding guidelines and payer policies
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic, NextGen, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Associate's degree in health information management or related field preferred
