Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS systems
- Submit clean claims to insurance companies and track payment status
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies
- Conduct insurance verification and prior authorizations
- Analyze claim denials and implement corrective actions
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in Epic, Athena, or similar EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance policies
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Experience with claim denial resolution and appeals
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
