Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims to insurance companies using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Review and resolve claim denials through appeals and follow-up with payers
- Manage patient accounts, ensuring timely payment and accurate billing documentation
- Utilize Epic EHR and NextGen billing software for claims processing and account maintenance
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment plans
- Stay current with healthcare regulations, coding updates, and payer policies
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure charge accuracy and documentation completeness
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) preferred
- Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and billing software
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer requirements
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Associate degree in healthcare administration or related field required
- Experience with Epic EHR systems strongly preferred
