Responsibilities
- Analyze medical documentation to assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Submit electronic claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies
- Communicate with patients regarding insurance coverage and payment plans
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Generate monthly reports on revenue cycle metrics
- Collaborate with coding and clinical teams for documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; CPC or CCS certification preferred
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in Epic, Cerner, or NextGen EMR systems
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance policies
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with denial management and appeals processes
