Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patient services
- Manage denial resolution and appeals processes
- Conduct regular audits of billing records for accuracy
- Coordinate with physicians and coding specialists to clarify documentation
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Generate monthly financial reports for practice management
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in physician practice or hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, Athenahealth, or NextGen EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding guidelines
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
