Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and submit medical claims to insurance carriers (CMS-1500 and electronic).
- Review and follow up on denied or rejected claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Manage patient billing inquiries, payment arrangements, and credit balances.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Reconcile daily bank deposits and generate monthly financial reports.
- Collaborate with coding and medical staff to resolve documentation issues.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or certificate in Medical Billing, Coding, or Healthcare Administration.
- Certification (CPC, CPC-H, CCA, RHIA, RHIT) is highly preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in medical billing or a similar healthcare finance role.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
