Responsibilities
- Accurately verify and enter patient demographics and insurance information into billing systems.
- Submit clean medical claims to insurance carriers (Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare).
- Track claim status and follow up on unpaid or rejected claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Analyze denied claims to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Process patient invoices, respond to billing inquiries, and facilitate payment collections.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with the coding team to resolve any discrepancies in documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth, or Meditech).
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
