Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control standards
- Provide patient education and comfort during procedures
- Document collection data using electronic health records (EHR)
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely specimen processing
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality policies
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent credential
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Excellent venipuncture skills with pediatric and geriatric populations
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
