Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Submit clean claims to insurance providers and track reimbursement status
- Resolve billing discrepancies through effective communication with providers and payers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing documentation standards
- Analyze denial trends and implement corrective actions to improve revenue cycle
- Utilize Epic EHR system for efficient claim processing and patient account management
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure complete and accurate documentation
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical coding systems and claim submission processes
- Strong analytical skills to resolve complex billing issues
- Experience with Epic EHR or similar healthcare software
- Excellent communication skills for patient and provider interactions
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy in data entry and documentation
