Responsibilities
- Accurately review and submit medical claims to various insurance payers (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid) in a timely manner.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services rendered.
- Manage the full revenue cycle, including posting payments and adjustments.
- Research, analyze, and appeal denied or rejected claims to maximize reimbursement.
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries and financial responsibility.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or Certificate in Medical Billing, Coding, or Healthcare Administration.
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CCA (Certified Coding Associate) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing or medical coding.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Practice Management Software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
