Responsibilities
- Accurately code diagnoses and procedures using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS standards
- Submit clean claims to insurance payers and resolve denials within 72 hours
- Conduct patient billing inquiries with empathy and precision
- Manage AR aging reports and follow-up on overdue payments
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation compliance
- Utilize Epic EMR system for real-time claim tracking
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient data security protocols
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital/clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial billing rules
- Advanced proficiency in claim scrubbing software (e.g., EncoderPro)
- Experience with denial analysis and appeals processes
- Strong analytical skills with 95% claim accuracy rate
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
