Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims to insurance companies using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Review and resolve claim denials and rejections through effective follow-up
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to service
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing compliance standards
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation accuracy
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance metrics
- Utilize Epic and Centricity practice management systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience with practice management software (Epic/Centricity)
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field
