Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Resolve billing discrepancies and denied claims through appeals
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and insurance regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document services accurately
- Generate monthly billing reports for department analysis
- Train staff on new billing systems and coding updates
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a US healthcare setting
- Certification in CPC, COC, or CCS required
- Proficiency in Epic, Cerner, or NextGen EMR systems
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Strong analytical skills for claim resolution
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience with Medicare/Medicaid billing protocols
