Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Submit and track electronic claims to commercial/ government payers
- Resolve claim denials through appeals and documentation follow-up
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits for service coverage
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
- Generate monthly reports on denial trends and A/R metrics
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in physician practice or hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR billing modules
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claim management software
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to manage high-volume claims with 98% accuracy
