Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits for optimal reimbursement
- Manage accounts receivable and resolve claim denials efficiently
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare billing standards
- Communicate effectively with insurance providers and patients regarding billing inquiries
- Analyze aging reports and implement follow-up strategies for outstanding balances
- Utilize Epic EHR system for documentation and billing operations
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience with insurance claim submission
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) and billing software
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Excellent communication skills for patient and provider interactions
