In this role, you will play a critical part in the revenue cycle management process, ensuring accurate billing and timely reimbursement for our medical providers. You will work in a collaborative environment that values accuracy, compliance, and employee growth.
Responsibilities
- Review and code medical records using ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS guidelines to ensure accuracy.
- Submit and follow up on claims with insurance payers to minimize denials and maximize revenue.
- Analyze and resolve complex claim denials and rejected claims to maintain cash flow.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal billing policies.
- Utilize EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) to document billing activities.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) is required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in clearinghouse submissions and understanding of CMS/Medicare guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
