Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside duties: instrument transfer, suction, and four-handed dentistry
- Manage patient flow: exam preparation, charting updates, and treatment scheduling
- Execute infection control protocols and sterilization procedures
- Capture diagnostic X-rays and intraoral images
- Order inventory and maintain dental operatory supplies
- Deliver post-procedure instructions and patient education
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-recognized)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography (Dexis/Sirona) practice management software
- BLS/CPR certification with current credentials
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment
- Flexibility for evening/weekend rotations as needed
