Job Overview
In this role, you will be the bridge between our healthcare providers and insurance companies, ensuring accurate reimbursement and maintaining patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and submit medical claims to insurance carriers (Medicare, Blue Cross, etc.) using electronic and paper systems.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services to minimize claim denials.
- Review and research denied or rejected claims to determine root causes and resubmit for payment.
- Communicate effectively with patients and insurance providers regarding billing questions, balances, and payment arrangements.
- Maintain and update patient medical records and billing files in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Reconcile daily deposits and generate monthly financial reports for management review.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or claims processing.
- Proficient in medical billing software (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic, NextGen) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
