Responsibilities
- Manage the front desk operations, greeting patients warmly and professionally as they arrive.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the medical practice's calendar to optimize provider availability.
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with the pre-authorization process for new patients.
- Handle billing inquiries, process co-pays, and maintain accurate financial records and accounts receivable.
- Update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) and patient charts with the highest level of accuracy.
- Coordinate with medical staff and nurses to ensure smooth patient flow and timely service.
- Assist with inventory management for office supplies and medical equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; certification in Medical Assisting or Reception is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical reception, front-desk, or administrative support role.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient service and conflict resolution.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification procedures.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly preferred.
