Responsibilities
- Front Desk Management: Greet patients warmly upon arrival, check them in efficiently, and manage the reception area to ensure a welcoming environment.
- Scheduling: Handle appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations using our EMR system with precision and accuracy.
- Communication: Answer incoming calls professionally, redirecting them to the appropriate departments or staff members.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments to minimize administrative delays.
- Administrative Support: Process payments, manage invoices, and update patient records with the latest demographic and medical information.
- Patient Intake: Assist with the new patient check-in process, including collecting necessary paperwork and ensuring data integrity.
- Coordination: Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure a seamless flow of patients through the clinic.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk or reception role preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and practice management software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy office setting.
- Professionalism: Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
