Responsibilities
- Front Desk Management: Greet patients warmly upon arrival, check them in efficiently, and ensure all necessary registration forms are completed accurately.
- Scheduling: Manage the appointment calendar using our EMR system, including rescheduling, cancellations, and coordinating with providers.
- Communication: Answer incoming calls professionally, route messages to the appropriate staff, and handle patient inquiries regarding services and hours.
- Insurance & Billing: Verify patient insurance eligibility, collect copays, and process basic transactions using the point-of-sale system.
- Administrative Support: Maintain patient records, file charts, and manage incoming and outgoing mail.
- Special Projects: Assist in special events, patient outreach programs, or other administrative duties as assigned by the Practice Manager.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a medical receptionist program is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk or administrative support role preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds and medical staff.
- Language: Bilingual (Spanish/English) is highly desirable due to our diverse patient population.
- Professionalism: Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations strictly.
