Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following HIPAA protocols
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory with precise documentation
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment in sterile conditions
- Provide patient education on procedures and ensure comfort during draws
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize specimen collection workflows
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and infection control procedures
- Update electronic health records (EHR) with real-time accuracy
Qualifications
- Current Florida Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in outpatient/hospital setting
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA (or equivalent)
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Exceptional communication and patient rapport skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling protocols
- Pass background check and drug screening
