Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and collect co-pays accurately while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Front Desk Management: Answer multi-line phones, manage appointment scheduling, and handle incoming patient inquiries with efficiency.
- Administrative Support: Maintain and update patient medical records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and ensure data accuracy.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient demographics and insurance coverage to ensure billing compliance and reduce claim denials.
- Communication: Coordinate with medical staff to streamline patient flow and ensure a seamless clinic experience.
- Mail & Correspondence: Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and healthcare correspondence promptly.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a medical receptionist certification program is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk or reception role preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual skills (English/Hawaiian) are highly desirable.
- Attributes: Strong customer service orientation, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a professional appearance.
- Compliance: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws is required.
