Responsibilities
- Front Desk Management: Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, managing check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Scheduling: Utilize practice management software to schedule appointments, confirm visits, and reschedule as necessary to optimize provider availability.
- Communication: Answer incoming calls with a friendly voice, triage messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate medical staff or departments.
- Administrative Support: Verify patient insurance information, collect copayments accurately, and process paperwork.
- Record Keeping: Maintain and update patient charts and electronic health records (EHR) with the highest level of confidentiality.
- Patient Flow: Coordinate with medical assistants and nurses to ensure smooth transitions between the front desk and clinical areas.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical reception or front desk capacity.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Interpersonal: Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations with empathy.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
