Responsibilities
- Manage the front desk reception area, greeting patients warmly and professionally upon arrival.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments via phone, email, and patient portal.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and collect copays or payments accurately.
- Answer incoming calls, route them to the appropriate departments, and take accurate messages.
- Maintain and update patient medical records and filing systems (digital and physical).
- Assist in preparing exam rooms and ensuring medical supplies are stocked.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure a seamless patient flow throughout the day.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Medical receptionist certification is a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk or administrative role preferred.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic billing processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
