Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, checking them in efficiently.
- Manage the front desk operations, including answering multi-line phones and directing calls to the appropriate departments.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the provider's calendar to ensure optimal workflow.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and collect copays or payments accurately using our Point of Service system.
- Update and maintain accurate patient medical records and charts in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and ordering medical supplies.
- Address patient inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high satisfaction levels.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of a medical receptionist program is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical front desk or administrative role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and insurance providers.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance is highly desirable.
