Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following OSHA and CLIA standards
- Verify patient identity and ensure accurate labeling of all specimens
- Process and transport samples to the lab while maintaining chain of custody
- Prepare patients for procedures and provide post-draw care instructions
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control protocols
- Utilize EHR systems for documentation and order tracking
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- Current Missouri Phlebotomy Technician certification (or eligible)
- 1+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Strong venipuncture skills with minimal callbacks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail with specimen handling protocols
- Proficiency with EHR systems and medical terminology
