Responsibilities
- Patient Welcome: Greet patients warmly upon arrival, check them in efficiently, and ensure they are comfortable while waiting.
- Appointment Management: Schedule patient appointments via phone and patient portal, managing the calendar to optimize provider availability.
- Administrative Support: Verify patient insurance eligibility, process new patient registrations, and update demographic information accurately.
- Communication: Handle incoming and outgoing calls professionally, directing inquiries to the appropriate staff members and taking detailed messages.
- Documentation: Prepare and file patient charts, maintain accurate records in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, and manage front desk supplies.
- Financial Coordination: Assist with billing inquiries, process payments, and explain financial policies to patients courteously.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Medical Administration is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk or administrative support role preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with EMR software (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic, Practice Fusion) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance processes (PPO, HMO, Medicaid), and HIPAA compliance regulations.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a strong focus on customer service and patient satisfaction.
- Professionalism: Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and positive demeanor.
