Responsibilities
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, instruments, and supplies
- Update electronic health records (EHRs) accurately and timely
- Administer medications and immunizations per protocols
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments
- Support front desk operations including check-in/out and phone triage
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Active Texas Medical Assistant certification (or eligible)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in outpatient setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Must pass background check and drug screen
