Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs to identify changes in health status.
- Administer medications and treatments in strict accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Document patient care activities, outcomes, and responses accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current unencumbered RN license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure by exam.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare setting.
