Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control standards
- Provide patient education and comfort during procedures
- Document patient information and specimen data in EHR systems
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care
- Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA compliance guidelines
Qualifications
- No prior phlebotomy experience required (training provided)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain during training)
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Valid Alaska driver's license (if travel between sites required)
