Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture: Draw blood samples from patients using aseptic techniques and venipuncture or capillary puncture methods.
- Patient Care: Ensure patient comfort and provide clear instructions during the blood collection process.
- Sample Management: Properly label, log, and transport blood specimens to the laboratory for analysis.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment.
- Administrative Support: Verify patient identification and assist with basic clerical duties, including filing records.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean and sterilize phlebotomy equipment and workstations after every use.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Training: Completion of a Phlebotomy Technician course is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light objects.
- Computer Skills: Basic proficiency with computer systems and data entry.
