Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate patient care including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature accurately.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) while maintaining their dignity and privacy.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding patient status and needs.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition in the electronic health record system.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered State of Michigan CNA license required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or home care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be available for flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic computer literacy for charting and documentation purposes.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for home care positions.
