Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and licensed practical nurses.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, including changing linens and sanitizing equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding patient status and needs.
  • Transport patients to and from treatment areas, meals, or activities as directed.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and documented by the RN.

Qualifications

  • Current, active, and valid Texas CNA Certification (CNA 1).
  • CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification valid for at least six months.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care, hospital, or home health setting is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy and patience.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
  • Basic computer literacy for electronic health record documentation.
