Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure their comfort and dignity.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, reporting any deviations to the RN on duty.
- Safety & Mobility: Ensure patient safety by assisting with transfers, ambulation, and fall prevention measures throughout the shift.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status, care provided, and any changes in condition within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Hygiene & Environment: Assist in maintaining a clean, sanitized, and organized patient room environment in strict adherence to infection control protocols.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active North Carolina CNA certification required; active LPN or RN license accepted.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or hospital setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a compassionate bedside manner.
- Availability: Must be willing to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
