Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
  • Vital Signs: Accurately monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any significant changes to the nursing supervisor immediately.
  • Mobility Support: Assist patients with ambulation, transfers, and positioning to ensure their safety and prevent falls.
  • Medication Management: Remind clients to take their prescribed medications and document compliance according to state regulations.
  • Household Assistance: Prepare light meals and assist with light housekeeping tasks specifically related to patient care.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the District of Columbia.
  • Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
