Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and surgical treatments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments/equipment following OSHA and CDC guidelines
- Take accurate dental radiographs and digital impressions
- Manage patient charts and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Provide chairside support and four-handed dentistry
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide oxide monitoring
- Coordinate patient flow and post-operative instructions
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or DCDA)
- Minimum 2 years chairside experience in general dentistry
- CPR certification and BLS training
- Proficiency in digital imaging and Eaglesoft software
- Excellent communication skills for patient education
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols
- Valid DC dental radiography permit
