Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and various dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including intraoral and extraoral images.
- Greet patients, verify insurance information, and update patient medical histories.
- Manage appointment schedules and maintain accurate clinical records.
- Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Current DANB Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state-licensed Dental Assistant (RDA) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting preferred.
- Proficient in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, OpenDental).
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient comfort and communication.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow multi-step instructions accurately.
