As a Home Health Aide, you will play a vital role in helping patients maintain their independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide Personal Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor Health: Observe and report changes in patient behavior, physical condition, or symptoms to the nursing staff.
- Medication Assistance: Remind patients to take medications and ensure they are administered correctly as directed by the RN.
- Companionship: Offer emotional support and engage patients in conversation and recreational activities to reduce isolation.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as meal preparation and laundry, to ensure a safe and clean living environment.
- Transportation: Assist with transportation to medical appointments and community outings when necessary.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Ohio Department of Health Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certificate required.
- Experience: Prior experience in home health or long-term care is preferred but not always required for the right candidate.
- License: Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient, empathetic demeanor.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
