Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals based on dietary restrictions and client preferences.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in meaningful conversations to combat loneliness.
- Health Monitoring: Monitor vital signs, medication reminders, and report any changes in the client's condition to the nursing team.
- Household Assistance: Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, vacuuming, and changing linens.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, or social outings.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily care logs and progress notes.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Certification: Current state certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Assistant (PCA).
- Licensure: Valid Driver's License and reliable personal vehicle are required.
- Health: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification.
- Background: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills and a patient, kind demeanor.
- Experience: Prior experience in home health or geriatric care is preferred but not mandatory.
