Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist providers with clinical procedures
- Accurately document patient information in EMR systems (Epic experience preferred)
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing per protocols
- Manage inventory, sterilize equipment, and maintain exam rooms
- Coordinate patient flow and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and preventive care
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
Qualifications
- Current Illinois Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory or hospital setting
- Proficiency in venipuncture and basic laboratory procedures
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Associates degree in Medical Assisting or related field preferred
