Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, medical history, and updating patient records.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy and EKGs, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Manage patient scheduling, confirm appointments, and handle incoming phone calls professionally.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary clinical environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide patient education on medication, treatment plans, and preventative care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred, but new graduates with relevant externships are encouraged to apply.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centric care.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment.
