Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with history taking, measuring vital signs, and updating patient records.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist physicians with minor procedures and examinations.
- Administer medications and injections as authorized by the provider and according to strict safety protocols.
- Manage the reception area, including greeting patients, answering phones, and scheduling appointments efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary clinical environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Document patient interactions and treatment plans accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
