Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and prepare them for examinations.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers with patient examinations, prepare examination rooms, and sterilize medical equipment.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Phlebotomy: Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for lab testing as required.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and patient charts.
- Lab Coordination: Process and log lab specimens, ensuring they are sent to the appropriate laboratories in a timely manner.
- Communication: Answer phones, schedule appointments, and coordinate referrals with other specialists.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office setting.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Skills: Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability: Punctual and dependable attendance record.
