Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and examinations
- Prepare patients for visits, take vital signs, and document medical history
- Perform basic lab tests, EKGs, and phlebotomy
- Administer medications and injections per physician orders
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Coordinate patient education and discharge planning
- Sterilize equipment and maintain exam room cleanliness
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/Meditech preferred)
- Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills
- Texas state certification or eligibility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- BLS/CPR certification required
