Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Health: Observe and report changes in patient condition, including vital signs and behavioral changes, to the RN or Charge Nurse.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move safely from beds to wheelchairs or stretchers using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment.
- Administer Medications: Under supervision, administer prescribed medications and document administration accurately.
- Patient Communication: Maintain a positive and empathetic communication style with patients, families, and visitors to ensure comfort and understanding.
- Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, including sanitizing equipment and rooms.
- Documentation: Accurately complete nursing charts, logs, and incident reports in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited CNA program is mandatory.
- Licensure: Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of California.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and assist with patient transfers.
- Professionalism: Must possess a valid driver's license and pass a background check and drug screen.
