Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist providers during procedures
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) with precision and maintain patient confidentiality
- Administer injections, perform EKGs, and collect specimens for laboratory testing
- Schedule appointments, handle insurance verification, and process medical documentation
- Coordinate patient education on treatment plans and preventive care protocols
- Maintain sterile exam environments and inventory of medical supplies
- Collaborate with nursing and administrative teams for seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Excellent phlebotomy and venipuncture skills
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross
- Strong communication skills with ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Tennessee state certification (if applicable)
